Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 28, 2026

This policy explains what information freememegenerator.cc (the "Site") collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. The short version: your images never leave your device, we don't have accounts, and the only personal data involved comes from standard server logs and the ads that keep the Site free.

Your images

Processed in your browser. Never uploaded, stored or seen by us.

No accounts

We don't ask for your name, email or a password to use the tool.

Ads and cookies

Google AdSense may use cookies to show and measure ads. You can opt out.

1. Your images and text

When you choose or drop an image into the editor, your browser reads it locally and draws it onto an HTML canvas on your device. The captions you type, your font and color choices, and the final PNG export are all created on that canvas. When you press Download, the file is saved directly to your device.

We never receive, upload, store or view your images, captions or finished memes. When you close or reload the page, everything you were working on is cleared from memory. The editor does not save your work in cookies or browser storage.

2. Information we collect

We don't run user accounts, contact forms or newsletters on the Site. The information involved in using it is limited to:

  • Server logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical details when your browser requests a page: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page, and the date and time. These logs are used to keep the Site secure and running and to diagnose errors.
  • Advertising data. Google and its partners may collect information through cookies and similar technologies when ads load. See section 3.
  • Emails you send us. If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include, and use it only to reply.

The Site itself does not use analytics or tracking tools beyond the advertising described below. If that changes, we will update this policy.

3. Advertising and cookies

The Site is funded by ads served through Google AdSense. To deliver and measure ads, Google and other third-party vendors use cookies and similar identifiers. These can be used to show you ads based on your previous visits to this Site and to other websites (personalized ads), to limit how often you see the same ad, to measure ad performance, and to detect fraud.

Google's advertising cookies let Google and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites on the internet. You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and about Google's advertising cookies at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for your consent before personalized ads or non-essential cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time using the privacy options link in the consent message. If you decline, you may still see non-personalized ads, which rely on limited data such as your general location and the page you're viewing.

4. Your ad choices

  • Turn off personalized ads from Google in My Ad Center.
  • Opt out of personalized ads from many third-party vendors at aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (Europe).
  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The meme editor works fully with cookies disabled.

Where laws such as the EU and UK GDPR apply, we rely on our legitimate interests for server logs (keeping the Site secure, available and working) and for replying to emails you send us, and on your consent for personalized advertising and non-essential cookies.

6. Sharing

We don't sell your personal information, and we have no images or memes to share. Data is handled by:

  • Our hosting provider, which stores server logs on our behalf.
  • Google and its advertising partners, which collect data directly through ad cookies as described above, under their own privacy policies.
  • Authorities, if we are legally required to disclose information or need to protect the Site, our users or others.

California residents: we do not sell personal information for money. Personalized advertising may count as "sharing" under California law; you can opt out using the choices in section 4.

7. Retention

Your images and memes are never stored, so there is nothing to retain. Server logs are kept for a limited period under our hosting provider's standard retention settings and then deleted. Emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request. Cookie lifetimes are set by Google and its partners.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because we don't run accounts, we usually hold very little that can be linked to you. To make a request, email contact@freememegenerator.cc. For data collected by Google through ads, you can also use Google's own privacy controls. You have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Children

The Site is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International transfers

Our hosting provider and Google may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Site or the law changes. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes will be noted on this page.

12. Contact
